Hounds 4 Homes - Rehoming Greyhounds
In Christchurch, April 2006, Hounds 4 Homes Inc. was formed to work with greyhound owners and trainers with the aim of helping place more greyhounds in good homes once they retire from racing. We are an independent, charitable organisation based in Canterbury, New Zealand. We believe that greyhounds make wonderful pets and wish to help find as many as possible safe and happy homes. Because of their gentle nature many adopted greyhounds also make excellent therapy dogs, and several of our dogs visit people in rest-homes and hospitals. We charge no fees and are entirely voluntary. To help cover costs donations are most welcome! Hounds 4 Homes Inc. is a volunteer organisation, so every dollar you give goes directly towards helping greyhounds. Hounds 4 Homes Inc. is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005. Registration number: CC29400. It has donee organisation status with the Inland Revenue Department. Individuals can claim a tax credit (formerly rebate) and Maori authorities and certain companies can claim a deduction for donations to Hounds 4 Homes.
