Hounds 4 Homes Incorporated is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005. Registration number: CC29400.

Purpose

Hounds 4 Homes was formed in 2006 to rehome greyhounds once they retire from racing.* We believe that many greyhounds make good pets and wish to find them suitable homes.

* Although it had its origins at least three years earlier, on Christmas Eve, 2003, when we first met Elmo.

Independence

We are an independent charity based in Canterbury, New Zealand. We rehome greyhounds throughout New Zealand.

Hounds 4 Homes is racing neutral. We receive no racing industry funding.

100% Volunteer-run

Hounds 4 Homes is entirely volunteer-run. To help cover costs donations are most welcome. As we are a 100% volunteer organisation, every dollar you give goes directly towards helping greyhounds.

Hounds 4 Homes is registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005. Registration number: CC29400. It has donee organisation status with the Inland Revenue Department. Individuals can claim a tax credit (formerly rebate) and Maori authorities and certain companies can claim a deduction for donations to Hounds 4 Homes.
